Ascend Talent ("we", "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains how we handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.
What we collect
If you're a candidate, we collect the information you share with us to help you find work, such as your name, contact details, CV, employment history, skills, qualifications, work rights, security clearance status, salary or rate expectations and the kind of role you want. With your consent, we may also collect references and the results of any checks an employer requires.
If you're an employer or client, we collect business contact details and information about the roles you want to fill.
We only collect sensitive information, such as health information, where it's needed for a specific role and you have given your consent.
How we collect it
Mostly directly from you: through our website forms, by email, by phone or in person. We may also collect information from referees you nominate, from employers you've interviewed with, and from professional profiles you've made publicly available, such as LinkedIn.
How we use it
- To understand your skills and goals and match you with suitable roles.
- To represent you to prospective employers, but only with your permission for each role.
- To respond to enquiries and provide our recruitment services to employers.
- To send updates you have asked to receive. You can unsubscribe at any time.
- To meet our legal and regulatory obligations.
How we share it
We never send a candidate's CV or details to an employer without that candidate's permission. We share information with prospective employers and referees as part of the recruitment process, and with service providers who help us run our business, such as email, website, form-handling and spam-protection providers. Some of these providers may store information outside Australia, including in the United States; where they do, we take reasonable steps to ensure it is protected. We don't sell personal information.
Website forms and analytics
Our website forms are processed by Web3Forms and protected by hCaptcha, which may collect technical information such as your IP address to prevent spam. If we use analytics on this website, it collects aggregated information about how pages are used and does not identify you personally.
Security and retention
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access. We keep candidate information while it's useful for finding you work or as required by law, and we delete or de-identify it when it's no longer needed. You can ask us to remove your details at any time.
Access and correction
You can ask to access or correct the personal information we hold about you by emailing us.
Complaints
If you have a concern about how we've handled your information, contact us first and we'll respond within 30 days. If you're not satisfied, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
